Atiba LG Chairmanship Aspirants Urge Party Members, Loyalists To Disregard Olakoja Candidacy Rumour
All Chairmanship aspirants under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Atiba local government have urged the party members, and people of the council area to disregard the flying news around that the leaders of the party have endorsed the candidacy of Hon. Mrs. Kafilat Mojisola Olakojo for a second term.
Speaking to the Journalists in Oyo town, the chairmanship aspirants explained that, party stakeholders were meticulous in picking an aspirant as consensus candidate for the forthcoming local government election, adding that, the party BoT and his cohort only acted the script given to them after being paid by their mistress.
They said, no leader with rightful thinking for the progress of the local government will assemble to discuss and consider the incumbent chairman for a second term in office.
While denying stepping down for Olakojo, the aspirants said, efforts are still ongoing for a final resolution as the last executive meeting held about picking a consensus candidate ended inconclusively.
” As of today, we are still looking forward to hearing from the party stakeholders, the last directive we all followed was that we should submit all required documents for the nomination form to the state party office at Molete Ibadan for the further screening process, which we had done.
Speaking on the purported endorsement of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Khafilat Olakojo, the aspirants said, the female aspirant and his people were just a theatre group that went to Oyo East local government for a stage play, said the purported endorsement is invalid.
” Olakojo and her paid agents called leaders are typical enemies of PDP and Atiba local government, all they want to do is to get the ticket through the back door but, the party is above them, and we are ready to spoil their tactics.
” As of today, the leaders with integrity and who love the party are working hard to give the local government a competent candidate, not the one who has been careless with the development of our dear local government.
The aspirants also made it clear that all of them are working together with the stakeholders of the party for they make mistakes during the process of producing a rightful candidate.
” We are not in a rush, we all agreed to abide by the leaders’ decision, we just want fairness,” the Atiba chairmanship aspirant concluded.
