Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has called for provision of effective road network, dedicated fire service station, police post and other basic amenities in Araromi Auto Spare Parts Market to forestall re-occurrence of fire incidence.

Chief Adelabu, while addressing the market leadership and other traders described the incident as unfortunate one but promised to provide necessary logistics within his capacity to support the rebuilding of the market and liaise with the government at both the state and federal level through the CBN/Federal government SME fund to provide succor for the victims of the incidents.

“It is unfortunate that since my childhood when i grew up to know about this market, which is just beside my primary school at Agodi Gate, there has not been any meaningful impact of government infrastructural intervention at the Agodi gate spare parts market despite its economic contributions to the state and even the south west at large. The market has been neglected for too long. This is the time to give priority to the provision of basic Infrastructural amenities to this historical and important market.

“I had once hawked at the Agodi gate spare parts market and I knew the condition of the market but it’s a pity that nothing has changed since I knew the market” Adelabu said.
