As part of her commitment to improving healthcare delivery in Oyo State, a United Kingdom-based medical doctor and surgeon, Dr. Tejumola Olaoye, has donated essential hospital equipment to the Oyo State Ministry of Health.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Akintunde Ayinde, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Olaoye for her generous gesture. He noted that the donation will go a long way in supporting the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of Oyo State.
Also commending the donor, the Director of Nursing Services, Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Oyebode, described the contribution as a clear demonstration of patriotism and compassion, especially coming from someone who is not currently residing in the country.
In his remarks, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Pharmacist Moses Adewole, emphasized the importance of such support and assured that the items would be put to good use to enhance service delivery in public health facilities across the state.
Items donated include:
• Boxes of syringes
• Examination gloves
• Medical aprons
• Packs of catheters
• Dressing pads
• And other consumables
The donation was formally presented to the Ministry on behalf of Dr. Tejumola Olaoye by her parents, Dr. Olaide Olaoye and Mrs. Mojid Ola Olaoye, alongside Professor Yinka Omotosho.
Also present at the handover were senior officials of the Ministry including:
• Dr. Adekunle Aremu, Director of Hospital Planning, Research and Statistics (DHPRS)
• Mr. G.A. Adeyemi, Director of Finance and Accounts (DF&A)
