E-EZER Foundation Helps Children, Women, Vulnerable In Ibadan
Ode kerewu, Charity bus stop, Oke Odo in Ibadan South East Local government area of Oyo state was a mecca of some sort on Saturday when a non governmental organization, E-EZER Foundation Doled out gift items worth over one point seven million naira for the less privileged and vulnerables.
At the event which also seemed like a political gathering had Over two hundred and fifty children, one hundred women and physically challenged as well as small scale business woman who go financial support as beneficiaries.
Speaking with Westerndailynews, the project lead, E-EZER Foundation, Ms Helen Olayiwola said the beneficiaries were selected by the communities under the LCDA through the assistance of the social welfare department of the Ibadan South East local government.
“I spoke with them and I told them they should give us the appropriate people, people who could not afford luxury of life, not just anybody and came up with a list under the LCDA, they identified those disadvantaged and those who needed help”.
Ms Olayiwola said the purpose of the Christmas outreach was to show love and put smile on the faces of the people especially the less privileged and children who could not afford the luxury.
“In the gift parcel for children, we have a story book because we believe in the gift of literacy, so we have to give a child a gift of literacy this season. We have noodles, biscuits, stationary, food and drink” she said
The E-EZER team lead who explained that the foundation has the mandate of helping people rise through different platforms noted that it would improve on its outreach next year which she said would possibly be done in a less disadvantaged area or a rural community
She appreciated the team and members of the community for their supports before, during and after the outreach.
Reacting, chairman landlords association, Ode-kerewu, Oke Odo, Reverend Taiwo Bamidele Samuel expressed joy and gratitude to the foundation, saying that the experience during the outreach would linger for long in the minds of the children and women.
Items distributed included food stuffs worth over five thousand naira each, Christmas pack and food for children, cash price for winners of different competitions and snacks.
