Oyo Ministry Of Health Partners APIN, Trains Senior Staff On Compliance, Leadership, Program Management

 

…… Receives Event-Based Surveillance Equipment From APIN

 

The Oyo State Ministry of Health’s strategic partnership with APIN Public Health Initiatives (APIN), a Non-Governmental Organization continues to yield positive returns as the Ministry and the organization trained
senior officers from the Ministry of Health and Agencies on Compliance, Leadership, Strategic Information, logistics management, and others.

Oyo Ministry of Health and APIN continue to maintain over 20 decades of productive relationships with efforts to strengthen the health system in Oyo State.

In the penultimate week of September 2024, with support from APIN, the Oyo State Ministry of Health organized training sessions for over 40 senior officers from the Health Sector, including Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, Directors, and Senior Programme managers on Compliance, Fiduciary Responsibilities, Budgeting/Retirements, and Leadership and Program Management. The program was held at the BON Hotel, Bodija Ibadan.

The Ministry and APIN also held training
for officers from the Ministry of Health and Agencies as well as from sites offering comprehensive HIV care on Strategic Information and logistics management at Jogor Hotel, Ring Road Ibadan.

Furthermore, to strengthen the State’s capacity to prevent and respond to disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies, the leadership of the Ministry of Health, through its strategic collaboration with APIN, was able to secure state-of-the-art electronic devices and equipment for event-based disease surveillance in the State.

This includes an internet-enabled 55-inch visual display board, a 13th generation intel core i7 laptop at the office of the Honourable Commissioner, and electrical equipment to support activities of the State Public Health Emergency Operations Centre.

Other items received include a Laptop Computer, Colour Printer, Inverter Batteries, Air Conditioners, as well as a Refrigerator and Microwave for the EOC kitchenette.

While receiving the equipment from APIN, the Honourable Commissioner for Health, D.r Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, appreciated APIN for the gesture and for aligning with the Ministry’s agenda of health systems strengthening and the sustainability agenda of the State Government as outlined in the Omituntun 2.0 roadmap.

She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to the partnership with APIN and other organizations willing to collaborate with the State in the same manner as APIN.
