Ido Market Reconstruction, Old Occupants Will Be Given Priority During Allocations, Adeojo Assure Traders

 

The executive chairman of the Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo has allayed the fear of the traders in the Ido market that there is no iota of truth in the rumour that the government would eject them from the market after the reconstruction of the market.

 

The council chairman clarified the burning issue while commissioning a motorized borehole for the Ido marketers.

 

The chairman said traders with genuine allocation papers will retain their shops at the end of the reconstruction exercise while more shops will still be allocated to new entrants.

 

Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo in his words “the government is planning to reconstruct Ido market to suit the modern and standard market likewise extend the market to the area covered by the market land”.

 

He said further that the market will be done in a way to accommodates both weekly and daily traders without any hindrance.

 

Hon. Sheriff Adeojo equally enjoined the traders in the Ido market to consider the newly commissioned borehole as their inheritance and jealousy guide against vandalism of the borehole machine and other accessories.

 

In his commendation message, the chairman of Ido market, Mr Najimdeen Adeyemo (Action) appreciated the chairman for the gift of the borehole to the market and the clarification made on the rumour making the rounds that all the traders in the market will be ejected after the reconstruction.

 

He also assured the chairman of proper monitoring of the borehole and the accompanied generator.
