Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late brother, Sunday Makinde, describing him as a good man, brother, husband, and father who left behind a legacy of truth.
The Governor delivered his eulogy during a funeral service held at the Bishop Akinyele Memorial Anglican Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan, in honour of the deceased.
In his heartfelt tribute to his late brother, Sunday Makinde, Governor Makinde described him as a caring and loving sibling who prioritized his family’s success.
The governor however reminded the congregation that death is an inevitable reality that everyone must prepare for.
Reflecting on his brother’s life, Governor Makinde recounted fond memories of Sunday Makinde, affectionately known as “Sundo” by his admirers. He praised his brother’s selfless commitment to their family’s well-being, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate others.
Shifting his focus to the nation’s economy, Governor Makinde emphasized that an abundance of natural resources does not necessarily guarantee prosperity. Instead, he stressed the importance of investing in entrepreneurship and education to drive sustainable growth and development.
Delivering his sermon at the funeral service the Bishop of Ibadan North Diocese and Archbishop of Ibadan Province, Most Reverend Williams Aladekugbe, emphasized the transformative power of death, leading to eternal life, resurrection, and an end to worldly struggles.
The Ibadan recreation Club Sabo, the venue of the Reception Programme is presently playing host to people of different Classes, such as Traditional Rulers, Politicians, Captains of Industry, Religious leaders among others.
