Police Arraigned Three Hoodlums For Impersonating OYRTMA Officers, Robbing Drivers

Three hoodlums has been arraigned at the Ibadan North-East Magistrate Court for allegedly impersonating the Oyo State Road Traffic Management (OYRTMA) by removing articulated and heavy-duty truck hoses and robbing drivers along Iwo Road, Oojo axis of Ibadan.
Segun Morakinyo, an officer office the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), in collaboration with Nigerian Police Force’s Akobo divisional headquarters, apprehended the suspects.
The case had been adjourned until December 10, 2024, and the suspects will be detained at the Agodi Correctional Center until then, as ordered by the Magistrate.
Speaking with newsmen, The Executive chairman Oyo State Traffic Management (OYRTMA) Major Adesagba Adekoya rtd, condemned the actions of the hoodlums, stating that they had been impersonating OYRTMA officers and tarnishing the authority’s reputation.
He assured the public that the authority would not tolerate such activities and urged citizens to report any suspicious behavior.
Adekoya emphasize the importance of collaboration between the public and law enforcement agencies in combating crime.
He promised swift action against anyone found impersonating OYRTMA officers or engaging in other illicit activities against the traffic.
The Recovered items from the suspects include Android phones, N50,000in cash, one ATM card, and two SIM cards belonging to a trailer driver they had just robbed. These findings suggest a coordinated and brazen criminal operation.
The OYRTMA has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining law and order on Oyo State’s roads.
