APC Apex Leaders in Ibadan North Call for Transparent Primaries, Dismiss Compromise Allegations
The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Apex Leaders in Ibadan North Local Government Area has called for calm and reaffirmed its commitment to democratic principles as the party prepares for the forthcoming House of Representatives bye-election in the federal constituency.

In a communiqué issued at the end of an emergency meeting held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, the Forum addressed growing concerns over the activities of the Delegates’ Congress Committee, which was constituted by the party’s national headquarters to oversee the primaries.
The leaders categorically rejected any anti-democratic practices that could compromise the integrity of the primary election process. They emphasized the need for a free, fair, and transparent selection of the party’s candidate, one that reflects the true wishes of party members and gains the confidence of all stakeholders.
The Ibadan North APC leaders firmly reject any anti-democratic tendencies that may undermine the credibility of the primaries or jeopardize the collective efforts of party members to ensure victory in the forthcoming bye-election.
Amidst rising tensions and circulating rumours, the Forum dispelled allegations suggesting that its members had been compromised or were backing a particular aspirant. The leaders insisted their position remains impartial, and guided by the overarching interest of the party.

The leaders also urge all aspirants to avoid rancour and bitterness, and to renew their hope and faith in the party’s capacity to ensure justice and fairness in the process.
The Forum also appealed to party members to remain calm and exercise restraint despite any perceived provocation, urging continued unity and cooperation towards ensuring APC’s success in the bye-election.

Reaffirming its loyalty, the Forum declared its unwavering commitment to the values, constitution, and leadership structure of the APC from the state to the national level.
The meeting comes at a critical time as political activities intensify ahead of the bye-election, and serves as a rallying call for cohesion within the party ranks in Ibadan North.
